On August 11th and 12th the UNIMC team, in cooperation with the Kenyan artists Fred Abuga and Peter Kenyanya, conducted two workshops – painting and sculpting – at the “Afajiri Street Kids Art” founded and directed by Lenore Boyd (https://www.alfajiri.org/ and https://www.facebook.com/groups/1715229198738093). Each session was attended with excitement by 20 children and youths. The two artists presented materials, tools, techniques, and largely interacted with the participants by encouraging their questions, tutoring creative experiences as well as facilitating individual artistic expressions. Both workshops reinforced cooperative learning skills, self-awareness and transcultural understanding.
