Benchmarking at Kenyatta University

Staff from Pwani University visited Kenyatta University for four days of benchmarking progress on TPAAE project goals in spring 2022. Prof. Stephen Muoki (Partner Coordinator, Pwani University), Prof. Halimu Shauri (Dean School of Humanities and Social Sciences), Dr. Nancy Ngowa (HOD), Mr. Fredrick Ndegwa (Lecturer) and Ms. Florence Mtuweta (Administrator) attended sessions with lecturers and senior administrators at KU’s colleges of Fine Art and Design, and Communication, Media, Film and Theatre Studies, its television station (KUTV) and Postmodern (Main) Library. They discussed specific areas of intervention as Pwani prepares to launch Bachelor and Diploma programmes in Fine Art in order to develop courses that are competitive and relevant to the creative industry in Kenya and the African continent. The Benchmarking exercise focused on curriculum and training best practices, as well as the infrastructure, equipment, personnel issues necessary to the efficacy and optimisation of degree courses in Fine Art and Design.
