On the 1st of March 2024 at 5 pm at the Alliance Française in Mombasa, the 2nd edition of the Lampart Film Festival was held.
The jury, consisting of Dr. Magdalena Szymkow, Prof. Lukasz Skąpski, MA Rafal Zarski, MA Ruby Kang Ethe, Karen Nijca Thiong’o, Daudi Anguka, Prof. Issah Ghana, Prof. Simiyu Barasa, awarded filmmakers from the Kenyan coast.
During the ceremony, there were screenings of the awarded films and of films by students of the Department of Experimental Film from the Academy of Art in Szczecin.
Also, there was a presentation of films made as part of TPAAE research: “Kangalika. A short story of Richard Onyango Odongo” , directed by Dr. Lukasz Jastrubczak aka Jan Kowalski , “Enmeshed with a Sand” by Prof. Aleksandra Lukaszewicz , “The Tag Art Documentary” by Dr. Beneath Shapaya.
We would like to thank Mr. Pawel Pijanowski from the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Nairobi, for his presence and speech at the opening ceremony of the Festival.
