Part 2 of 2
TPAAE researchers and thier Pwani University colleagues visited casa 18 to deliver a seminar and interact with casa 18 guests.
The visit started with a tour of the facility, after which an open discussion on the “Casa18 experience between educational approaches and plural belonging” took place. Coordinators and social workers brought up the experience of social cooperation at Lella, which can be traced back to 2001.
For the last 20 years this initiative cooperation has fought social hardship with hospitality and education for young people in collaboration with all local services.
Prof. Stephen Muoki Joshua, leader of the TPAAE Pwani delegation, addressed “Religious affiliations and spiritual values: reflections on subjective and community identities” in his keynote. UNIMC Prof. Rosita Deluigi moderated the seminar.
The climax of the visit was the social interaction, in which different nationalities exchanged diverse ideas on multicultural coexistence in a dinner at the centre.
