Prof. Aleksandra Lukaszewicz, the TPAAE Main Coordinator, visited Pwani University as part of a curriculum development exercise for degree courses in Art and Design that are being created under TPAAE. While on the Kilifi campus, she turned over volumes on Contemporary Art from publisher Thames & Hudson, Ltd., which will seed the university library’s collection for the courses that are due to start in September 2022.
Prof. Lukaszewicz also provided copies of ‘MekaZine’, a publication created by Pwani students for the second iteration of TPAAE’s DUOS Festival, to the library. Dedicated to the DUOS Festival theme of Women Power, the MekaZine also was exhibited at the National Museum in Szczecin during the DUOS Festival held in Poland from Novmeber 2021-Januyary 2022.
Prof. Lukaszewicz made TPAAE’s donations to Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Extension Prof. Muniru Tsanuo, who passed them to the representative of the Head of the Library Department Moses Isutsa. Director of Board of Undergraduate Studies at Pwani University and TPAAE campus coordinator, Prof. Stephen Muoki Joshua, noted the sharpness of observation, deep sensibility and writing skills of students, vowing to support journalistic passion among the university’s students.
