Teaching staff from Kenyatta University (KU) embarked on their first TPAAE secondment to the University of Macerata (UNIMC). Prof. John Mugubi, Dean and Associate Professor at the Department of Communication, Media, Film and Theatre Studies; Mr. Adon Ombura, Chairman of the Department of Fine Art and Design; Dr. Beneah Azangalala Shapaya of the Department of Communication, Media, Film and Theatre Studies, and Anne Mwiti of the Department of Fine Art and Design all made the trip from Nairobi to central Italy.
There, the KU researchers interacted with members of staff and students at UNIMC, including through teaching assignments, workshops and presenting papers at symposia organized at the university. Notably, Mwitte led a Drawing Workshop for students at the G. Mameli Primary School of the Comprehensive Institute “E. Mestica” in Macerata.
The Kenyatta University team also visited galleries, museums and art academies in several cities, including Florence and L’Aquila, as part of their two-month stay.
